The school consistently records high pass rates in the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Nusrat frequently produces the country's top-performing students, including individuals who have achieved 9 A's (2016) and 8 straight A's (2014).
It is noted for sending the highest number of students to the University of The Gambia and other international universities.
The school maintains competitive entrance requirements, with cut-off marks historically ranging from Aggregate 19 to 20 in the GABECE exams.
Established in September 1971 by the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam, Nusrat Senior Secondary School celebrated its 54th anniversary in 2025. It is officially recognized as a "School of Excellence" and remains a premier institution for STEM and leadership in The Gambia.
